Procedures involving port placement, insufflation and minimally invasive techniques including robotic and laparoscopic urology, colorectal, and general surgery procedures
Male Torso Trainer
‘DadBod’ Torso Trainer is a new addition to our surgical synthetics, designed to represent a standard patient with a BMI of 35. It features a fully insufflatable torso made from Skinthetic™ technology, allowing multiple trocar insertions and easy repairs for a “new” surgical experience every time. Anatomical landmarks facilitate realistic port placement, including a bony pelvis, ribs, and umbilicus. Functional urethra and anal canal components enable catheterisation and rectal insertion. A movable drawer system integrates with other hydrogel training models, while optional add-ons include fluidic flow lines, snap-fit limbs, and a multi-position cradle system.
DadBod is compatible with our hydrogel models including our Inguinal Hernia, Right Hemicolectomy, Partial Nephrectomy, Gastric Model, Roboset Stand and HydroSkins.
DadBod is not compatible with our Ventral Hernia, Anterior Abdominal Wall or Gynaecological models.

Cutting edge robotic technology is continually unlocking new approaches to advance surgery. In parallel, the training methods are also undergoing similarly significant advances. Utilising a suite of advanced simulation devices and anatomically correct synthetic organs, trainees can now develop high skill levels and train for a wide range of routine and demanding emergency situations all prior to commencing live surgery. This approach maximises patient safety, and ensures that surgeons receive the advanced training necessary to extract the very best outcomes from the latest robotic devices.
